Bumper to bumper racing was never like this.

VROOM! VROOM!...well not quite. The fourth edition of the "Burnout" series for PS2 is the best one yet. ‘Burnout: Revenge’ is packed full of new courses, stunts and activities for you to complete to become a reckless street racer who will stop at nothing to get the checkered flag. You had better practice your street racing tactics too because it's going to be rough ride!
The main objective is to achieve the highest street racing credibility by doing any thing you can to upgrade it. As you win and complete different races and activities, you get closer and closer to increasing your credibility. When you start off, you are deemed as "harmless", but then it starts upgrading to "fearless" and "dangerous"...and before you know it, you will on top of the ‘Revenge’ world.
There are some really additive activities in this game. One that I love is what I call…Smash em' Crash em'. In this endeavour, you must purposely slam into traffic and try to cause a huge pile-up doing as much damage as you possibly can. The damage in dollars will be the way you are judged. You can get a gold, silver or bronze medal, or no medal at all if you do poorly. There are other activities such as “race against the clock” situations or just simply racing recklessly on populated highways and streets all over the world.
A cool feature of the game is that there is never a time in a race (other then the final sprint) when you cannot catch the leader. If you get in a really bad crash and you think its over right there and then, well don't give up because you can still do well even if you are in sixth position. Another awesome element is that in order to get nitro fuel, you must hit cars, trucks, and buses...whatever you can to get the extra boast in the race. So smash! smash! smash!
Another amazing asset is that the opponents that you face aren't stupid. These are some top-notch, intelligent drivers! These opponents actually try to set you up to crash in a race. One thing you cannot forget about this game are the astonishing crash scenes. The crash scenes are indescribable because they look so realistic and are very fun to watch again and again.
There were two dislikes I had with this game. For one, there was absolutely no storyline. It was like there was no purpose to racing and doing activities. I guess the only thing that you could look forward to was upgrading your credibility. For the second dislike, you have absolutely no choice on what car you get. You can't soup it up or even change the colour of it! I know it's not a big deal but I guess the only thing that made the situation a little better was that you win better cars as you go on.
Other then those two drawbacks, this game definitely came out on a positive end.
