I can just image the advertising for this game now – Do it! That’s all you’ll need to hook most of you onto Starsky & Hutch.
Something that rarely happens took place with this title; it was released in Europe first, and was handed over to a different publisher for its North American showing. Given that is a much bigger American license then a European one that’s odd, but it is what it is.
Although the release of this game may lead you to believe its more closely tied in with the just released movie, then say the PS2 version which has been out since late last year, you should definitely know there is little tie in with the Ben and Owen movie currently in theaters. This bad boy is based on the TV show, and does attempt to take itself seriously (at least as seriously as you can when doing a behind the scenes feature based on a ludicrous show).
You’ll be driving that famous 1974 Ford Torino while putting the boots to the Bay City’s bad guys, in a complete 3D city. The game also plays like a behind the scenes vignette, where you have to be as over the top as possible in your missions to gain a larger audience. The game will take place over 18 levels, each playing out like an episode of the show, and all giving you the ability to gain more weapons, and cars. Multiplayer mode will be loads of fun with one person being able to control Starsky and the car while the other controls Hutch and gets to fire the gun.
It may not be a tie in with the game but something tells me a lot of you will still want to ‘do it!’ -- I really need to stop that.
